Rebuilding confidence and identity after amputation.

Structured coaching for individuals and families navigating life after amputation with clarity, strength, and purpose.

Hi, I’m Emily

An amputee transition coach specializing in life after limb loss. As a hip disarticulation amputee myself, I understand that the most complex part of amputation is often not physical, but transitional. Medical recovery follows a defined plan. Rebuilding identity, confidence, and direction rarely does.

After navigating my own transition following amputation, I recognized the need for structured support beyond medical care. Support that addresses the emotional, social, and identity shifts that follow.

Whether you are facing amputation, newly amputated, or years into life after limb loss, the physical and emotional shifts can feel overwhelming.

I work with individuals and families to create clarity, rebuild confidence, and establish a steady path forward.

This is not therapy. It is practical, grounded guidance from someone who has lived the transition herself.

Coaching Framework

While every journey is different, clients generally moves through four core phases:

  • After limb loss, everything can feel unstable.

Before rebuilding anything, we focus on restoring steadiness.

    This phase centers on:

    • Emotional stabilization

    • Reducing overwhelm

    • Clarifying what feels urgent

    • Re-establishing a sense of control

  • Amputation often reshapes identity in ways that feel limiting or defining.

In this phase, we examine internal narratives and begin separating who you are from what happened to you.

    We focus on:

    • Identity shifts

    • Self-image

    • Challenging limiting beliefs

    • Reconstructing a stable sense of self

This is where internal rebuilding begins.

  • Once internal stability strengthens, we shift outward.

This phase is about reclaiming visible confidence and ownership of your life.

    This may include:

    • Movement and physical confidence

    • Navigating prosthetics

    • Returning to work or school

    • Social reintegration

    • Re-engaging in sport or activity

The focus is agency — showing up in the world on your terms.

  • The final phase is forward-looking.

With stability and confidence rebuilt, we focus on direction.

    This may include:

    • Clarifying goals

    • Exploring adaptive sport

    • Establishing new routines

    • Defining what the next chapter looks like

The aim is not simply coping. It is reigniting belief in what is still possible.
